The Aquatic Life RO Buddie 50 GPD and 100 GPD 3-stage reverse osmosis (RO) and 4-stage (RO/DI) systems feature unbelievable affordability and functionality, all in a very compact design. Designed to provide a reliable source of economical filtered water for aquarium use, all systems use Thin-Film Composite (TFC) Membrane RO cartridges in conjunction with Carbon and Sediment cartridges to effectively and efficiently remove harmful substances such as heavy metal ions, dissolved solids (TDS), Chlorine and particulate matter from municipal tap water. 50 GPD RO Buddie (540016), 100 GPD RO Buddie (540017), 50 GPD RO Buddie + DI (540019). Features: Small footprint of the unit makes it easy to place under cabinets or in limited spaces. Sediment and Carbon cartridges are up-front and easy to replace. Membrane Housing accepts standard 11-3/4 inch TFC Membrane Filter Cartridges. Faucet Adapter makes it easy to connect to standard Garden Hose Threads (GHT). Includes 20 feet of Polyethylene Tubing to plumb. Quick Connections make it easy to remove and replace cartridges. Mounting Brackets hold the unit securely while mounted in a convenient location. Included Membrane Housing Wrench makes removing cap easy. The 4-stage systems include our improved DI Color Changing Mixed Bed Resin Cartridge with MBD-30-NG Nuclear Grade resin, item #330242. Both RO Buddie 3-Stage systems can be easily upgraded to a 4-Stage RO/DI system by adding our De-ionization (DI) Color Changing Mixed Bed Resin Cartridge, Item # 330242, sold separately. The Cation and Anion resins (H+ and OH-) in the DI cartridge media remove most of the remaining total dissolved solids (TDS) from membrane-filtered water, and produce purified water with an average conductivity value of ~0.1µS/cm. The DI Cartridge is refillable and has a clear housing so you know at a glance when the media needs to be replaced. Our new MBD-30 resin changes color from blue to amber when the media is exhausted. Each DI Cartridge includes two clips that allow the cartridge to attach to the front of the membrane housing.

The new twist-in media cartridge design makes filter changes simple, easy and clean – no tools required and no mess! STAGE 2 – TWIST-IN CARBON BLOCK FILTER CARTRIDGE: Recommend replacing every 6 months. The second stage of your RO unit is a Carbon Block Filter. The Activated Carbon in the filter reduces chlorine by up to 99% and conditions the water prior to the RO Membrane. Item 330379. STAGE 3 – TWIST-IN RO MEMBRANE FILTER CARTRIDGE: Recommended replacing every 1-2 Years. The RO Membrane reduces impurities known as Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from the water down to 1/10,000 of a micron, reducing arsenic, lead, parasitic cysts, copper and more. Item 330375. STAGE 4 – TWIST-IN MIXED BED COLOR CHANGING RESIN DEIONIZATION CARTRIDGE: Replace filter when resin changes color completely to amber. Reverse osmosis booster pumps are used to increase the pressure going into your RO or RO/DI system which make it operate more efficiently and can decrease consumption of DI resin. Designed as an accessory for Reverse Osmosis units in areas with low water pressure, or for users that want maximum output and the best quality filtered water from their RO systems. Item 540292. The Smart Buddie booster pump is quiet, easy to install, and can significantly increase water output. Reverse osmosis is a pressure-driven process. Small residential RO units will theoretically operate on very low pressure--down to 35 psi--but the reality is you won't get a lot of water and the product water quality may be compromised if the unit runs below 45 psi. RO units typically run well on municipal water pressure of 60 psi, but they run even better with a small pump to boost the pressure to 80 psi or higher. The increased pressure will also improve the economy of the unit (it will run less reject water) as well as the quality of the water. RO units thrive on pressure! Features: The high pressure switch turns off the booster pump if the filtered water pressure is greater than 33.35 PSI, prolonging the life of the pump. Buddie Fit press-fittings make it easy to plumb tubing into the existing RO system. The sealed pressure pump is low-voltage and powered by the included transformer, which ensures safe, quiet operation.
