Chemi-pure, the original Boyd product was developed by Dick Boyd in 1960.  Dick had been working in fish stores and building aquariums since 1947, at the age of 17.  Through his own experimentation with aquarium filtration, he developed the original, world-renowned Chemi-pure.  The results are the same today as they were then, crystal clear, ionically balanced water that creates the perfect environment for fresh and saltwater aquariums.
